Insomniac.

Tuesday morning.

It honestly feels like Monday morning, I've decided.

It really doesn't help that I don't go to bed until 4 a.m., and then drag myself off my loft at 7 a.m., as my cell phone is screaming High School Musical at me. Yes, High School Musical. I enjoy it. It's almost a guilty pleasure, but not quite, as I admit to liking it. Catchy songs, some funny jokes, Zac Efron, what more could you ask for? And the second one was a lot more entertaining. Better songs, more funny jokes, a grown up Zac Efron... I can't help it. If you walk into my dorm room, you would see that, since I have a Wall-of-Efron.

I think dorm living is a very interesting concept, if you think about it. Universities jam pack thousands of kids on campus into large buildings they call dormitories. In these dorms, or 'residence halls' as my university calls them (supposedly, dorm has a negative connotation), there are anywhere from 20 (in your larger halls) upwards to 80 (in your largest halls) on one floor! And most residence halls have multiple floors.

Now, I do recall during high school, I would complain as to how little privacy I had at home. Boy, do I know lack of privacy now. With 63 other girls on your floor, and around 300 more living in your dorm, something is wrong if you have any privacy. In all truth and honesty, I sometimes get more than most college students.

See, my roommate is a very nice person. But we're just into two different things. I'm in a sorority, which takes up a lot of time, and she's not. Plain and simple. I have a small tight knit group of friends (referring to outside the sorority -- there are 60 sisters who I all love dearly), and she has a larger group of friends. They enjoy hanging out in our dorm lobby, and I don't. I prefer hanging out in the sorority suite, or in my best friends dorm a floor above me. Therefore, I get a lot of privacy in my room when I want it. What do I do with all that privacy? Sleep. Homework. Sleep... Nap. Rest my eyes.

I'm tired, can't you tell?

The Worst Thing To Me.

There is one thing in life that I absolutely HATE doing.

I hate letting people down.

Honestly. I feel my worst when I know someone is disappointed in me. And that's how I feel right now.

I'm in a group at school, and it was my turn to make the flier for this week. Now, I'm by no means an expert in Photoshop. To be honest, Photoshop and I do not get along, whatsoever.

So I made the flier and I thought it looked GOOD! I was pumped, I was thrilled. But then I posted it on our forums, and alas, the writing was completely GONE. It killed me. So then my computer I was using at school decided to die, so I said i'd post it the next day. So I went to the library to fix it, and I tried to post it, and alas. It wouldn't post.

So finally, I suckered up and downloaded a 30 day free trial on my laptop, knowing it is the most reliable source, and made a new one. And posted it today. On Saturday. This was due on Wednesday.

I feel absolutely horrible. Horrible, horrible. Because our leader said we all need to talk at our next meeting.

But I couldn't really do it any other time, because I am absolutely swamped here. I mean, I'm taking classes, working 5 days a week, one of those classes I'm on the verge of failing (long story), and if I fail it I lose my scholarship. Not to mention, my sorority is taking up a lot of time since I'm a new member. Plus I have homework to complete, and I have to sleep. Even if it is just a few hours.

I can't do this anymore. It's such a stressful week.

GAH.

Argh. College.

So, I love my college. I really do. I'm full of school spirit. I own so many teeshirts that have my school plastered on them that it is an integral part of my wardrobe (but what college kid doesn't have 299 teeshirts?). However, there is one thing I LOATHE about my college:

THE WEATHER UP HERE.

Seriously. I'm from warmer climates. I even lived in Mississippi for a while. I HATE THESE SUBZERO TEMPERATURES. Today it hasn't been that bad. It was around 4 degrees when I walked to class, with no wind. The wind is what kills me. And my school is like a wind tunnel.

Y'know, for being such a great architectures school, they really sucked it up big time when planning out my campus. Seriously. There are around three massive wind vortex's on campus, and it drives me insane. Take for instance yesterday, when I was walking to my car so I could go to Greek 101. I walked through a wind vortex, which was bad because it was already 4 degrees, with 50 mph winds. So that made it like, -20 degrees. ARGH I hate it. And now it is snowing outside. And my friends call me a winter idiot, because I slip and slide and fall every time there is snow.

Enough about that.

I actually received a comment yesterday about my Grammy's blog. Thank you Dlyn for actually stopping by! =)

As for Amy Winehouse, I really do think she gained some sort of sympathy votes. Seriously. Yes, she has a great voice, there is no denying that. But like you said, she is a train wreck. That poor girl needs some help. Honestly.

And you sort of have to shake your head when you think about how the Record of the Year award went to a song about not going to rehab because you like your drugs too much. Seriously, now. What is the world coming to with songs like that? It just makes me chuckle.

I don't think she deserved all of those awards, but that's just me. It just seemed like an off year for the Grammy's this year.

However, I DID like how everyone called out Kanye West. He has good music, in my opinion, but he is SO COCKY. I'm very glad Vince Gill and Usher put him in his place. Especially Vince Gill's comment about receiving a Grammy from a Beetle. Ha. That made me laugh.

What I'm REALLY looking forward to is the Academy Awards. That's one of my favorite award shows (apart from the Tony's, but that's only because I'm a theatre fiend). I'll be having my predictions up about that one fairly soon.

Well, I must head out into the cold, cold, snow. I hope I don't die of hypothermia.

Much love,
Kat-cicle.

My second day of being a blogger. This is a wonderful, wonderful life I must say.

Actually, not quite. It's rather odd, as I doubt anyone ever reads this.

Anyway. I should probably tell any (potential) readers out there a little bit about me. My name is Kat. I'm an 18 year old female who is attending college for the first time. I grew up in the bowels of the Midwest, and now attend college in Northern Indiana. It's quite a change, I tell ya. All these people saying "pop" and "cheese toasty." It just ain't right. I miss my coke and my grilled cheeses. And by coke, I mean Sprite of course.

But at school, I'm a Telecommunications major, with an option in Sales and Promotions. But recently, I have found a calling to band management (Oh yes, Band Management) so I may be changing my major very soon to business administration. That ought to be a fun experience.

Here at school, I'm in the sorority of Pi Beta Phi. I absolutely love my sister's. I'm only a Pledge right now, as I joined in Mid-January. So, I'm working my way up to the actual 'being a sister' thing. I'm also in a sketch comedy group. Today, I actually helped film a sketch that my good friend wrote. It's rather outrageous -- but what of ours isn't? I mean, seriously. We set a dolphin on fire using gasoline. If that isn't outrageous, I don't know what it is.

And before all those PETA huffies get all pissed, it was a stuffed dolphin we bought from Meijer. Thanks. No dolphins were harmed in the sketch. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I ever hurt an animal. Seriously.

Back to more about me. I'm a theatre fiend. I haven't been able to act while in college, but I really hope that changes very very soon. I miss being on stage. But when I can't be on stage, making movies suffices. I also enjoy watching films and critiquing the crap out of them. Love, Actually and There Will Be Blood are two of my favorite movies. So if you like those, props to you.

Also, my favorite actors are Alan Rickman and Colin Firth. So, that's why I have an Alan Rickman icon. So I swear I'm not weird. I am just madly in love with him. Kidding.... or am I?

Well, I probably ought to stop rambling. By the way, I'll probably post really insanely random things on here, so I apologize to anyone who decides to read this.

Much love,
Kat

Ah! A new blog. It's almost like starting a new life, no?

Okay, maybe not. But it's still rather enjoyable to be able to start a new blog. I mean, I can write anything I want. I can be whoever I want to be. But I'm just going to be myself.

I'll probably rant about many things, I'll probably bitch about a lot of things too. But that's okay. And if anyone out there is actually reading my stuff -- kudos to you. Seriously.

But as for right now, I will just start off with a simple hello, and welcome to my life.
